By John Michinak November 29, 2016

Every rockstar at Magnet 360 has a unique and fascinating story. Today, we’re finding out a little bit more about Jennifer White, our new Senior Director, Enablement Services. In this position, Jennifer will take the helm of our project lead team and utilize her extensive experience to ensure successful delivery of customer projects. Meet Jennifer White!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your background?
Jennifer: A big theme of my early career was traveling. I started off in radio and television with the United States Air Force. Some of my most memorable trips during that time include opening up a radio station in Italy, visiting Germany, and skiing Mt. Etna. In the 1990s, I began working at IBM. While I was with them I traveled to China and all over Europe, though biking in Ireland was by far my favorite trip. I spent 15 years at IBM before moving to a small consulting firm. Soon I was looking for a new opportunity, and started my own business, Pony Mailbox and Business Center. The business offered UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping services. I sold the business several months prior to coming to Magnet 360.

Q: How did you hear of Magnet 360, and how did you end up as one of our newest delivery rockstars?
Jennifer: Kim Gandhi, Vice President of Delivery at Magnet 360, was my former manager. After she came to Magnet 360 she encouraged me to research the company—I was very excited when I heard of the open position. My goal is to help the project leaders as they deliver incredible solutions to our customers. I also enjoy being a mentor to my colleagues and friends; it is rewarding to watch them grow personally and professionally over the years.

Q: What is your familiarity with Salesforce?
Jennifer: I had not worked with Salesforce prior to working at Magnet 360—needless to say, I had a lot to learn in the first few weeks. It has been fascinating to learn about Salesforce. It’s almost like playing a game, in fact, I had already earned 52 badges before my first week was over. It is such a powerful tool. Earlier in my career, I was helping a company try to identify leads. This consisted of making a PowerPoint slide for EVERY single lead. I definitely wish we would have been using Salesforce then!

Q: Where are you joining us from, and what are you most looking forward to about moving to Minnesota?
Jennifer: I’ve actually lived in 15 different states; I used to move all the time. Most recently I lived in Nashville for 11 years, which truly started to feel like home. This is my first time to Minnesota, but so far I’m really enjoying it. The people here are very nice. I’m excited to try ice fishing this winter for the first time!

Q: What excites you the most about joining Magnet 360?
Jennifer: There’s quite a bit. When I was first took the tour of Magnet 360 with Talent Acquisition Representative Kenyachta West, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. They truly care about their employees here; I haven’t been around a place like that in a very long time. I like the environment. It’s fast paced, provides a chance for me to help develop our people, and the core values really resonate with me. I’m also looking forward to using Magnet 360’s paid volunteer time off—I’d love an opportunity to help the local refugee or homeless populations.

Q: Biggest takeaway from your first month?
Jennifer: It is the people that work at Magnet 360 that make it so great. After meeting everyone, I can tell they all are on the same page, want to work their hardest, and always do what’s right for the customer. I’m extremely impressed.
