Position Overview:

The Salesforce Technical Architect, Commerce Cloud is critical to the shared success of our project teams and our Technical Services group. Working with best of breed consultants and the Director of Commerce, you will be able to contribute and participate in many activities including solution design, sales, delivery, team leadership and importantly ­thought leadership.

The Salesforce Technical Architect, Commerce Cloud will have a passion for and experience with eCommerce; specifically, the powerful Salesforce B2C and B2B Commerce Platforms and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall technical architecture and corresponding deliverables
  • Lead the implementation of technical solutions according to the highest standards and influencing other team members to meet those standards, participating hands-on where necessary
  • Responsible for interpreting client requirements, business processes, and use cases to produce quality technical designs in the implementation, enhancement and support of eCommerce projects
  • Provide thought leadership in Salesforce B2C & B2B Commerce (Commerce Cloud/Demandware & CloudCraze) to promote best of breed culture and capabilities in Technical Services
  • Coach and mentor customers and developers as they learn to implement on Salesforce B2C & B2B Commerce Platforms
  • Provide technical problem resolution to complex issues
  • Provide consultative service to top enterprise customers to enable them to make solid decisions in their enterprise portfolio
  • Guide the development team in the appropriate use of platform technology Participate in Agile process on project teams

Activities and skills to achieve the above responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Experienced with web technologies, J2EE, Java, application servers, portal servers, middleware, ecommerce, enterprise application integration, databases, security, performance & scalability
  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce (Commerce Cloud/ Demandware) required.
  • Experience with B2B Commerce (CloudCraze) preferred
  • Experience with or other e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, Hybris) is a plus
  • BS or BA (In Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 7+ years’ work experience; with 3+ years in professional services/consulting preferred
  • Prior experience leading and working with geographically dispersed development teams
Experience in multiple web technologies including: XML, HTML, CSS, AJAX / JavaScript, Web Services/SOAP, SQL
  • Demonstrate proficiency in two or more object-oriented programming language (Apex, Java, .Net), patterns, database design
  • Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, SOA, SOC, etc.
  • Understanding of Web 2.0, cloud architecture, client-server architecture
  • Understanding of data migration considerations, design tradeoffs & common ETL tools
  • Understanding of mobile solutions and architecture
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with client senior management
  • Strong, proven experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • A strong understanding of Salesforce technology platforms is preferred

  • Business and technical correspondence is professional, thoughtful, effective, and grammatically correct
  • Ability to “think on your feet” and learn new things quickly
  • Pursues continued acquisition of Salesforce technical knowledge, stays abreast of web/industry technologies and share new ideas and techniques that are relevant to the eCommerce space
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
